The Best Hiking Trails in Santorini, Greece:
Hiking on Santorini: Santorini is well-known for its natural beauty. This island is ideal for nature lovers since it offers many appealing paths for hiking. The island provides abundant beautiful settings to its visitors, from wild, volcanic landscapes to picturesque villages and lovely churches in the countryside.
The trip from Fira to the Old Port of Gialos and back is the more common hiking route and easy to access, although there are many stairs.
The route from Fira to Oia is another trek, although it is much longer, a little more than an hour. The beautiful beach of Ammoudi lies at the end of the path, where you can swim and rest.
A slightly more difficult route is the old trail, which leads from Fira to Perissa through the Monastery of Prophet Elias. The trek is a little rigorous as it climbs up and down the highest peak of Santorini, the mountain of Prophet Elias at an altitude of 565m. Another great trekking option is Thirassia, a tiny island opposite Oia, with only 50 permanent inhabitants and a wild landscape to explore. If you visit in May or early June, you are bound to enjoy as much peace and pure nature as you want there.
